A safe environment for the novice to experienced shooter.
Serving beginners, sport shooters, hunters, law enforcement, military, and the community, the Sgt. Darrell S. Cole Memorial Shooting Range provides a controlled environment for the public to practice firearm efficiency and safety.
A partnership between St. Joe Park and Mineral Area College, the range was founded in 2016 and honors Sgt. Darrell S. Cole, a native of the area who attended MAC’s predecessor Flat River Junior College. He served as a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps before joining the Marine Corps in 1941. Sgt. Cole lost his life on February 19, 1945, during the assault on Iwo Jima and was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously.
